Neuropsychological/Cognitive Assessments (i.e. Learning Assessments)
An expert assessment to review your child's learning, including specific areas of concern, concentration and overall school performance.
Anaesthesia
Providing world-class anaesthetic services for all surgical specialities within the hospital, in addition to 24-hour on-call emergency cover.
Audiological Medicine
Our multidisciplinary team work together, with state-of-the-art technology, to provide a complete audiological service. We have completed over 1,000 cochlear implants.
Bladder Exstrophy
GOSH is one of only 3 Children’s Hospitals in the world that are considered to be world-leading experts in treating Bladder Exstrophy.
Bone Marrow Transplant
GOSH BMT Unit is the largest paediatric BMT centre in the UK. We provide a comprehensive haematopoietic stem cell transplant service for children with life-threatening conditions.
Cardiac Intensive Care
Specialist care for very sick children with conditions of the heart, lungs or airways, and those who have had major cardiothoracic surgery.
Cardiology
Complete medical and surgical services for children with congenital and acquired heart disease including congenital heart defects and inherited heart conditions.
Cardiothoracic Surgery
Heart surgery for children with congenital and acquired heart disease, as well as specialist tracheal surgery, thoracic surgery and chest wall reconstruction.
Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services
Highly specialised assessment and treatment of mental and behaviour disorders, delivered in ways and settings that suit each child’s needs.
Cleft lip and palate
The largest service in the UK, we also treat disorders associated with cleft lip and palate, and speech disorders due to other palatal problems.
Cochlear Implant
As one of the largest paediatric cochlear implant teams in the UK, we have carried out more than 1500 cochlear implant surgeries.
Craniofacial
Our large multidisciplinary service can treat every aspect of severe congenital and acquired conditions that affect a child’s skull and face.
Cystic Fibrosis
A specialist centre for children aged 0-16 years. We provide holistic care through a multidisciplinary team including physiotherapists, dietitians, pharmacists and psychologists.
Dental and Maxillofacial
We provide a comprehensive maxillofacial and dental service, with specialists in maxillofacial surgery, orthodontics, paediatric and restorative dentistry.
Dermatology
The Paediatric Dermatology department is the largest unit of its kind in the UK and is staffed by consultant paediatric dermatologists who work full time only with children’s skin diseases.
Dietetics Department
Supporting children who have a condition for which nutrition aids treatment. We provide a complete service of assessment, dietary management, and monitoring.
Ear, Nose and Throat
We provide individualised treatment for often unique ENT problems. We have expertise in a wide range of techniques, including laryngeal and ear reconstruction.
Endocrinology and Diabetes
Daily outpatient clinics, and the largest specialist service in Europe for children with endocrine problems and type 1 and type 2 diabetes.
Epilepsy
One of four English national centres for epilepsy, we have a diverse multidisciplinary team and are leaders in the surgical treatment of epilepsy.
Gastroenterology
We are recognised as a leading centre of advanced paediatric gastrointestinal medicine, and are committed to high quality patient-focused medical and nursing care.
General Paediatrics
Our team provides medical input across the hospital to support and improve holistic care for children and young people at GOSH.
Genetics
We provide a diagnostic service for rare known or suspected genetic disorders and genetic counselling for families who have or may be at risk of inheriting a genetic condition.
Gliomas
Gliomas are one of the most common types of primary brain tumours.
Haematology
Clinical Haematology treats patients with leukaemia, lymphoma and non-malignant blood disorders.
Haemophilia
Specialist medical and nursing care, primarily for children with inherited bleeding disorders and thrombotic conditions, in the largest UK centre of its kind.
Histopathology
We enable the diagnosis of a wide range of conditions through careful analysis of tissue samples, from patients at GOSH and beyond.
Immunology
A comprehensive diagnostic and treatment service for children with suspected or confirmed primary immunodeficiency, with inpatient, outpatient and day-case care.
Infectious Diseases
Diagnosis and management of unusual and complicated infections in children, including bone and central nervous system infections, tropical diseases, HIV and AIDS.
International Transfer Service

Interventional Radiology
The largest paediatric service of its kind in Europe, we perform around 3,600 procedures each year in state-of-the-art facilities.
Metabolic Medicine
Treatment for rare and complex metabolic conditions in children. The service is the largest of only four paediatric metabolic centres in the UK.
Microbiology, Virology and Infection control

Oncology
Part of the largest children’s cancer centre in Europe, we treat patients with many different malignant and non-malignant solid tumour cancers.
Ophthalmology
