Dr Mette Jorgensen
Overview
Dr Mette Jorgensen joined Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) in 2015 having completed specialty training in paediatric oncology at GOSH and University College London Hospital. Dr Jorgensen was awarded PhD in Cancer Biology and Gene Therapy from University College London (UCL) 2016.
Dr Jorgensen specialises in paediatric neuro-oncology (tumours of the brain and spine), paediatric soft-tissue sarcoma and is the clinical lead for cancer genetics (familial cancer pre-disposition syndrome). She is the UK Principal Investigator (PI) for International Society of Paediatric Oncology (SIOP) PNET5 international clinical trial for Standard risk Medulloblastoma and Chief investigator (CI) for SIOP Ependymoma international clinical trial and chairs the Neuro-oncology MDT at GOSH. She is a member of the EpSSG (European soft tissue sarcoma group) and works within an excellent team of experts of neuro-oncologist and sarcoma specialists at GOSH.
Dr Jorgensen says: “I aim to provide the best care and therapy for the child in front of me. I work with national and international experts to ensure we continue to improve our understanding of tumour biology and outcome for our patients.”
