Overview
Kerry Brown is an Occupational Therapist currently working in International and Private Care at Great Ormond Street Hospital. She works on the wards, covering most sub-specialities including Neurology, Neurosurgery, Cardiac, Respiratory/Long Term Ventilation, Oncology, Haematology, Immunology and Bone Marrow Transplant, and Intensive Care.
Kerry graduated with distinction in BSc Occupational Therapy from the University of Cape Town. Since moving to the UK, she has specialized in paediatrics, working in both private practice and the NHS, and joined Great Ormond Street Hospital in 2019. Fluent in four languages, Kerry is certified in certified in Sensory Integration, the Newborn Behavioural Observations (NBO) system, and the Assisting Hand Assessment (AHA). Kerry is a member of the World Association for Infant Mental Health (WAIMH).
Her work focuses on neurology and infant care, which she has pursued since her student days. Kerry enjoys presenting at conferences and has written a journal article on her work in PICU and NICU and recently contributed a textbook chapter on Occupational Therapy in Neurodisability for paediatric Neurologists
