KFSH&RC signed MOU with Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in London
King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (KFSH&RC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in London (GOSH) to build and foster clinical, educational, and research collaboration that enhances the development and delivery of paediatric services in diagnosis and therapy of rare medical conditions.
The MoU, signed by Dr. Majid Al Fayyadh, CEO of KFSH&RC, & Dr. Peter Steer, CEO of GOSH strengthens collaborative relationship of the two institutions in the fields of paediatric clinical, educational and research expertise.
Speaking about the partnership, Dr. Majid Al Fayyadh, CEO of KFSH&RC, said, “This collaboration fits in the context of the strategic plans to build partnerships with the international medical institutions to develop world class research and specialized medical services. It will help KFSH&RC to continuing achieve its mission of becoming one of the regional & international leading institution in specialized healthcare taking into consideration the main hospital in Riyadh, Jeddah branch and the 300-bed new Meeqat Hospital in Al Madinah Al Munawwarah that was converted, upon the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques recently, to KFSH&RC as a new branch.

The two world-leading institutions will work closely to enhance the clinical service delivery of specific specialities at KFSH&RC, such as cardiology, radiology and haematology, through initiatives such as visiting consultant programs and information exchange. This collaboration will ensure that both hospitals mutually benefit from hands-on clinical experience in a world-class setting.
As part of the MOU, KFSH&RC and GOSH will collaborate on various education initiatives such as the GOSH International Fellowship Programme, which will welcome postgraduate medical trainees from Saudi Arabia who are looking to gain sub-specialist expertise in paediatric care.
The MoU also highlights KFSH&RC and GOSH’s shared vision to produce world-leading research by working together to build strategic research alliances.
