Urology
Overview
The Urology department provides a specialist service for the diagnosis and management of children with simple and complex urological disorders. It is one of two designated centres in the UK specialising in the management of children with epispadias and bladder exstrophy.
The department has an international reputation for clinical excellence and has pioneered minimally invasive techniques in paediatric urology.
The main direction of our research is focused on understanding the developmental processes that lead to urological abnormalities, and on improving the outcomes for children who need to undergo surgery for complex urological disorders.
