Dr Graeme Glass

Overview

Graeme Glass MBChB, BSc, MRCS, PhD, FRCS(Plast) is a London trained, internationally respected consultant craniofacial & plastic surgeon.  Dr Glass is an expert in managing children with complex facial deformity.  As co-founder of the Qatar national cleft, craniofacial, facial palsy and microsurgical services, Dr Glass established an international hub of excellence for complex paediatric reconstructive surgery and pioneered some of the most complex facial and extremity reconstructive procedures ever to have been performed in the region, giving Dr Glass a basic grasp of the Arabic language and a truly international perspective to his practice. In 2024, Dr Glass moved back to London, where he now focuses on craniofacial surgery at the world-renowned Great Ormond Street Hospital for children.  These skills make an immeasurable difference to the lives of hundreds of children every year and attract patients from around the globe.

As a former associate professor of clinical surgery at Cornell University, New York and Qatar and former clinical lecturer at Oxford University, Dr Glass has published over 70 peer-reviewed papers and textbook chapters and has lectured internationally.  His PhD, on novel stem cell therapeutic strategies, was awarded by Imperial College, London.  He is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, an elected member of the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS), the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS).  Dr Glass is a contributing editor for the Aesthetic Surgery Journal, the world’s leading peer reviewed clinical journal focused on surgical and non-surgical aesthetics. His ongoing interest in healthcare strategy and innovation led him to undertake an MBA at Warwick Business School, which will be completed in late 2025.   

Beyond the clinic, Dr Glass is a committed family man and is passionate about the electric guitar and martial arts, with a blackbelt in Tae Kwon Do and a purple belt in Brazilian Ju Jitsu.
