Dr Rowan Reiss
Overview
I am an HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist and have worked in the NHS for 18 years.
I offer support to children and young people with a range of mental health difficulties including depression, anxiety, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), self-harm, psychosis, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and complex trauma resulting in intense and overwhelming emotions. I work with young people with adverse early life experiences, often relating to abuse and neglect.
I provide individual therapy and am trained in Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), in narrative and systemic approaches and in trauma-informed approaches including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
I also provide comprehensive assessments for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
As a qualified music therapist, I am interested in the non-verbal elements of communication and is committed to enabling people to access therapy in an attuned way, at a pace they are comfortable with.
I integrate Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) into my professional practice, offering a safe, non-judgemental space for children and their parents to be supported with any difficulties they may be experiencing.
